wedding in the woods
On the 28th of June, 2014 my love and I said 'I DO' to each other! The first thing we agreed on while planning was the vibe we were after. We both love nature so an outdoor wedding had to happen. A small ceremony, only our closest friend&family, good (vegetarian) food, wild flowers and lots of time to chill with each other. Our dream of a wedding weekend in the woods was born. We found the perfect venue during on of our hikes in the forest and got started on all kinds of preparations.
In the year before the wedding we road-tripped through the Netherlands in our firevan, visiting every thrift store we could find. We collected vintage tableware, glasses, woolen blankets, coffee cups, vases and brass candle holders. This way, we wouldn't have to deal with boring white plates and the wedding would be really OUR wedding. It was a huge job, but we loved those weekends treasure hunting together! All the decoration we made ourselves. The ribbons above the table, hand painted signs, ceremony arch, emotional vows, best-man-presents, the invitations.. We even picked the flowers for my bouquet, hours before the wedding. I wouldn't recommend doing everything yourself, but it was worth it!
As soon as we knew the date (the day we were together for exactly 8 years) we booked sweet Danique from OAK & FIR. Her photography style and my personal&professional style are a match made in heaven. She captured our wedding perfectly. Wonderful Jamy from Life from the Inside filmed our magical day and created the most touching video (scroll down if you can't wait). The entire weekend was a dream come true. With my gorgeous dress as a cherry on top. Come one, little beaded leaves? It was just too much! ♥
